International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
To celebrate women’s achievements and raise awareness about women’s equality MTL celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2022 in Lahore.
It was a highly involving, tremendous, and captivating event. The occassion was hosted by Ms. Sumera Nazir from HR department, and inaugurated with the recitation of the blessed Holy Quran, by Mr. Abdul Wahid Khan Majid DGM-EAP.
The occasion was graced as Chief Guest by Mr. Mustafa Khan.
GM – Marketing Mr. Azhar Noor & GM – TAP Mr. Ghulam Mustafa informed the audience that although the tradition of celebrating Women’s day was initiated in Germany by a group of deprived laborer women in the 19th century yet Islam is the only religion and code of life which secured, respected and awarded women with their due respect & rights in all fields of society and family inheritance centuries ago.
In the age of suppression and male dominance, muslim women became examples of independent leadership, entrepreneurship and educators through their own will power & courage, liberating themselves towards political, economic, and financial independence.
It was acknowledged that an enabling environment and attitudes towards education and skill development can only contribute towards elevating the status and prosperity of women in Pakistan, as the management of MTL truly believes in these principles of women empowerment. Not only this, the male members of the society need to understand and give due respect and value to women and also fully educate all the females in each family unit of the nation.
The event was concluded by Lt. Col.(R) Mukhtar Ahmed- HOD (Admin & Personnel) with an encouraging speech and distribution of gifts to all ladies working in MTL as a token of appreciation for their commitment and services to Millat Tractors Limited. Finally a special vote of thanks was given to CEO MTL S M Irfan Aqueel, for his blessings & encouragement for highlighting the important role of women in the success of the organization.
